Heads up for my followers who don’t follow YouTube gaming: G*me Grumps, the YouTube show/personalities involved with an anticipated lgbt dating sim, was founded by J*nTron. You might remember him as the racist YouTuber who supported Steve King’s view of “we can’t restore our country with someone else’s babies”, felt the colonization of Africa was a good thing, and was so toxic that the Yooka-Laylee team decided to ditch him with a day 1 patch rather than let his VA work stand in their game. His parting from the Grumps does not seem to be a case of his being kicked out, but his deciding to work on other projects.

As for the Grumps themselves, they apparently have a history of peppering their shows with racist “humor”.

This is disappointing, because the sim looked cute as hell. But I figured this might be info worth examining when it comes to deciding if you want to support the game or not, especially given that it features characters representing POC.

ETA: Crowsister provided some cites showing that the current Grumps have had occasion offer sincere apology for some of their content, and that, even if JonTron appeared to be controlling the narrative about how/why he left, they may not have been as OK with him as things seemed from the outside.
