Time for another irregular installment of Northstarfan’s Wallet vs The Used Book Store. Guess who lost!

Yeeeeah, so the book store got in a huge shipment of Marvel remainders. Stacks and stacks of brand new, shrinkwrapped geek swag at half-off cover (or more). This was never even the ghost of a fair fight.

Chaos War: X-Men - I’ve gotten so many cheap Alpha Flight TPBs from this place lately and it’s completely glorious. I read the X-Men two-parter included in this collection and…honestly, I still have no idea what went on. Poor, poor Mr Claremont…

Deadpool: X Marks the Spot - Deadpool’s more recent interpretations give me mild stomach cramp, but I fully admit that this is because I really liked the Joe Kelly book and so seeing the character used as the Ambush Bug of the Marvel U is kind of off-putting. This is the long way of me saying I only picked this one up because it has a story that affects Cessily.

Avengers Academy: Permanent Record - I needed more Christos Gage on my bookshelf.

Thor and the Warriors Four - All four issues for $2. Yoink!

Captain Britain: Birth of a Legend - These are pretty neat. Brian was always my least favorite member of Excalibur, but every time I dig up old Captain Britain material, he gets retroactively cooler. (That damn elf, though…)
