Thoughts on Astonishing X-Men #49 (spoilers)
Sorry this took so long, James.
Obviously, there were some things I didn’t like about this issue (Warbird’s hi-LARious sexual harassment schtick, the mystery-to-action ratio, Kyle’s color-changing jacket), but let’s focus on the positive.

Okay, we all know who is getting married in Astonishing X-Men #50 and #51. And why it will be such a big deal. Even if Marvel can’t say, for want of spoiling a media PRdeal with a national newspaper.

Oh, dear. Signs continue to point to Marvel going ahead with it.
I ‘ship Northstar/Kyle like whoa, adore them to bits, but I still have mixed feelings all over this — this would make JP and Kyle one of like three married couples left in the MU, and the only reason they’ll get an exception from Marvel’s “marriage is for boring, old people!” line is because SSM marriage is considered a novelty, a gimmick to boost sales. But I suppose nothing to do now except hope that we get a good story out of it.
